COMPLY @ WORK - H&S POLICY MANUAL

Health and Safety legislation demands that a business with 5 or more employees must have a written Health and Safety Policy and for it to be brought to the attention of all staff.

Even where a policy statement is not required by law, smaller businesses are increasingly being required by clients or potential clients to produce a statement of intent for health and safety, as clients require all associate with their business to demonstrate that they operate safely.

Following an initial visit to establish the organisation of your business, and the arrangements in place for Health and Safety, Comply at Work are able to produce a bespoke, comprehensive Policy Manual to reflect your unique intentions to provide a safe and healthy working environment.

We can also help with:

  • Identifying policies required
  • Designing and delivering training training in support of your policies
  • Auditing against adherence against policies
  • Reviewing your existing policies

A Health and Safety policy document should include:

  • a general statement of good intent, usually linked to a commitment to comply with relevant legislation
  • a section on organisational responsibilities. It is important that the responsibilities for putting good intentions into place are clearly identified
  • a section on the arrangements in place for the management of Health and Safety that should include details on the arrangements for such topics as First Aid Provision, Fire Safety and Control of Contractors, for example
  • as the policy is a living document, when you intend to review your policy (usually annually)
